1. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?
My background is in Architecture. After graduating, I moved to Saudi for 5 years, came back to Lebanon in 2017, and started working on the S l o w.
I officially established the s l o w in 2019, one month after the revolution.
The S l o w is a bi-product of years of traveling. What I was looking for was simple: good brands that have a good purpose. My quest took me to places near and far, until the journey led me to open my own space in Beirut.
2. Can you tell us more about the concept of The Slow Beirut?
The vision for the space is to be of versatility for its visitors.
The project has been executed with the aims of creating a calm atmosphere zoned for various activities from socializing for a quick coffee to a longer stay hang out. The architecture of the space is characterized by open spaces pronounced by grids of interesting textures in a muted color palette.
At the S l o w, our aim is to bring down the speed and treat you with some of our healthy foods and beverages .Our menu changes every season. What doesn’t change however is our commitment to bringing you the freshest local ingredients, sourced from organic farms around Lebanon. Our food is prepared slowly, so that you could enjoy every tiny bite of it.
At the S l o w, our aim also is to find products that add value and last long. Our store features a carefully curated selection of clothes, objects, books, and body products from ethical and sustainable brands from around the world.
At The S l o w, people are invited to slow down. In the process, they get to experience what it is like to live life more fully and more consciously.
